The Character

Overall Elegant and balanced.
Aromas Rich red fruits, crisp, tart redcurrant.
Mouthfeel Tenderness, velvety tannins.
Tasting Notes This lovely 2018 imposes its balance, fruit expression and suppleness. The one-year barrel ageing is judiciously proportioned and leaves plenty of room for fruit, notably notes of crisp, tart redcurrant. There's a lot of tenderness in this wine on the palate, with velvety tannins, a floral touch and freshness.

The Story

Château Lalande Mausse is a tiny wine estate that has been bought in 2000 and replanted between 2001 and 2003. He bas been integrated to the Château Clos du Roy in 2001 and to vignobles Hermouet. Philippe Hermouet is the owner of those wineries. It is located in the village of Saillans (at 35 km North-East Bordeaux) on a sandy-clay plateau named Bel Air where wines rather express their delicacy than their strength. As a subtle and balanced wine, the château Lalande Mausse can be enjoyed either young or after a few-year ageing.

About Ch Lalande Mausse

Producer Story

In 1987, the estate was made of two properties: Clos du Roy, which is a tiny 4-hectare vineyard in Fronsac appellation, and Château Roc Meynard, which covers a 30-hectare area surrounding the Meynard butte in Villegouge village, only 5 of which were planted with vines. Step by step, we have reconstituted Château Roc Meynard’s vineyard and we have extended the Clos du Roy.
